I'm a native Japanese speaker who got obsessed with how anime teaches language in a way that classrooms never could. One episode of Demon Slayer teaches you more about samurai vocabulary than a month of Duolingo.
I built this site because I kept seeing "Best Japanese App" lists written by people who clearly hadn't opened the apps. I test every app for at least 30 days before writing a word. My rankings are based on actual results β not commission rates.
How I Test Every App
30+ Days Minimum
No quick takes. I use every app as a real learner for at least a month before writing anything.
Native Speaker Check
I evaluate whether an app actually teaches natural Japanese β not the awkward textbook kind.
Real Price Testing
I pay for the plans I review. If something is expensive, I'll say so β even if it pays a high commission.
